When I used to work on Little Collins Street in Melbourne’s CBD (I’ve actually had 3 different offices there over the years). One of my favourite lunch spots was 11 Inch Pizza. It is a little mostly takeaway pizza restaurant down an alleyway and has a few seats there. I’d always just bring it back to my office to eat instead. Even back then, before Uber Eats was a thing, they were big on delivery.
Since then, I’ve worked in Brighton, Camberwell, Hawthorn East and now South Melbourne, which is back in the 11 Inch Pizza delivery zone and today, I had it again for the first time in years.
I ordered the Salami Pizza with added garlic, plus a Cheese Focaccia which was discounted on Uber Eats. I ordered these two with the intention of saving some for tomorrow for lunch.
Salami Pizza at 11 Inch Pizza Melbourne
I really can’t fault this, it is very tangy and has a nice spicy aftertaste. I ate all but 1 piece of it without even intending to. So much for saving some for tomorrow.
Cheese Focaccia at 11 Inch Pizza Melbourne
There was a promotion for $4.20 off this item, so it went from $14 down to $9.80 on Uber Eats. For that, I could not resist it. It’s not very common to see a focaccia with 4 types of cheese on it. This was indeed very cheesy. The goats’ cheese is the most plentiful ingredient and has the strongest flavour. The Rosemary adds a nice aftertaste to it. I ate about half of this today.
11 Inch Pizza Melbourne’s Pizza Boxes
I wouldn’t normally say much about the pizza boxes of a restaurant but 11 Inch Pizza Melbourne has some interesting features in their artwork. I like that they can mark off the flavours and special requirements to avoid messing up any orders.
Perforated Tuxedo Pizza Box Bibs
These pizza boxes have a tear-away section that allows you to make a tuxedo pizza bib. This was cute and I’d not seen anyone do that before, so that’s why we have this dorky banner image at the start of the article.
