Etto Pasta Bar has got to be my favourite pasta place in South Melbourne. I’ve not found anywhere else with such an emphasis on fresh pasta and quality ingredients. I’ve only ordered 1 pizza from Etto and whilst it wasn’t terrible, I would say that the pasta is the main meal you should really be getting if you’re ordering from Etto Pasta Bar. Pasta is definitely the signature dish, it’s in the name after all.
That being said, my absolute favourite menu item is the cheesy garlic bread.
Melbourne’s Best Cheesy Garlic Bread
The cheesy garlic bread (called Two Cheese Garlic Bread) at Etto Pasta Bar in South Melbourne is quite unlike your typical pizza shop or supermarket garlic bread. This is a small loaf of ciabatta bread with cuts in it lumped with garlic butter and melted mozzarella and parmesan over it.
I regularly buy this as a meal for myself rather than pasta.
Carbonara Pasta at Etto

The Carbonara pasta at Etto includes Smoky bacon with leek & garlic crème Fraiche. This is my ideal carbonara recipe as I’m not big on the overall eggy recipes. My order included the Mushroom, leek & ricotta ravioli and parmesan on the top.
Some of the more premium pasta and pasta alternatives such as gnocchi, gluten-free, ravioli and zucchini alternatives each cost a few dollars extra. I found that this was more than enough food for me at lunch.
