On Saturday, my partner went to see The Barbie Movie without me so I thought I’d cheer myself up with some takeaway delivered whilst the kids were asleep. It has been a long time since I’ve had Lord of the Fries, so yeah that’s what I got. This was ordered from the Pacific Werribee location in Hoppers Crossing, Victoria.
I’ve always been a big fan of Lord of the Fries. This Melbourne-based vegan chain does a lot of creative meat-inspired meals. I think my dad has ordered this a few times without even realising it was vegan.
Why is Lord of the Fries so good?
As a big meat eater who is slightly curious about vegetarianism, I find the idea of cutting out many of my favourite foods to be quite hard. Vegetarian and Vegan alternatives at fast food restaurants like Lord of the Fries make this much easier. What makes Lord of the Fries special is that everything is vegan. Even the cheese and eggs!
Vegan Chicken Nuggets from Lord of the Fries Werribee Review:

Nuggets are very crunchy and hard on the outside but softer inside than real chicken nuggets but the taste and texture are close enough to the real thing that it should make an easy meal replacement for vegetarians and vegans.

I ate all of these vegan nuggets without sauce. You can see in the picture above that it somewhat replicate the texture of a processed chicken nugget. I think it’s a great meat-free alternative.
Stinger Burger from Lord of the Fries Werribee Review:

The Stinger Burger from Lord of the Fries contains “Better Than Chick’n Stinger Patty, Cheese & Bacon, Lettuce & Spicy Mayo All 100% vegan.”
This is like a Vegan KFC Zing Burger, which is one of my go-to burgers at KFC. I’ve included a picture of the Stinger Burger from Uber Eats above with the burger I received as I’ve noticed mine was assembled differently, with the lettuce at the bottom and the bacon under the cheese. It still tasted fine, but since I’m reviewing this, I guess it’s worth mentioning.

The cheese isn’t noticeably fake, but I guess it looks strange the longer you look at it. Still tasted good.

The bacon seems to be less tough or rigid than what you’d expect from the real thing, as it, it’s not crispy and more like ham. But that’s not a big issue. I still think it was pretty good and would definitely get it again.

Menu & Prices at Lord of the Fries Werribee
Being a franchise, each Lord of the Fries location may have slightly different pricing and that is why it isn’t shown on the website. If you are looking for an idea of the pricing, below is the Uber Eats menu for my local store. One would assume the regular in-store pricing at most places will be slightly cheaper, as things tend to get a markup on Uber Eats.
