Red Rooster’s Red Fried Chicken Burger Chips, Mad Mex Hot Sauce and Subway’s Pizza Sub. I bought the Red’s Fried Chicken and the Subway Pizza Sub chips to try out.

Red Rooster’s Reds Fried Chicken Burger x Smith’s Chips
I quite enjoyed these chips, my 2-year-old son went to town on them too. I’m not a big fan of regular Chicken Smith’s chips. It’s one of my least favourite flavours, so I was a little hesitant to try these, but gave in eventually. I’m glad I did as these are much nicer than the standard “chicken” flavour we are used to here in Australia. I think because this is based on the Reds Fried Chicken Burger, it contains extra flavours relating to the lettuce, sauce and cheese.
The ingredients for a Reds Burger on the Red Rooster website is as follows: Classic Herb Mayo, Iceberg Lettuce, Cheese, & our NEW succulent fried Tenders all on a Soft Potato Bun.
My partner reckons it tasted a bit like pickles too, but chicken burgers don’t often have those, so it must have been the Classic Herb Mayo she is tasting.
Subway’s Pizza Sub x Smith’s Chips
Apparently, there are 3 Subway flavours available. Pizza Sub, Chicken Teriyaki and Meatball Sub chips. I bought this packet of Pizza Sub chips and they’re pretty good. I suppose the Pizza Sub is one of my go-to budget-level meals at Subway. The flavour of these chips remind me a little bit of Arnotts Pizza Shapes crossed with Samboy Atomic Tomato chips. Whilst they do not have a particular pepperoni taste, I did notice a slightly spicy aftertaste after going through half the bag.
Mad Mex Hot Sauce x Smith’s Chips Double Crunch Chips
I didn’t actually buy these, but maybe I’ll go back and get them later. I didn’t realise they were kind of part of the same series (Taste Icons) as it is part of the Double Crunch style of chips. I don’t think I like double crunch chips that much, but I guess I’ll go back and try it one day.

It included The Reds Burger as well as a spicy one and a BBQ Bacon one, which is what I went for.
