If you are one of the many people who struggle to keep their bathroom clean you will know that it can be very embarrassing having a surprise visitor want to use your bathroom. Bathrooms are perfect breeding grounds for mould and grime and if you’re busy it can seem impossible to keep it clean. There are a few things that you can do to make cleaning the bathroom a less daunting task.
Here are 8 ways to keep your bathroom pristine:
1. Clean your sinks and counters daily.
Sinks are used multiple times daily, they catch a lot of hair, toothpaste, grime and soap scum. If a sink is dirty it can make the whole bathroom feel unkempt, Be sure to wipe the sink daily and bench tops daily.
2. Keep a squeegee in your shower.
Soap scum is one of the hardest things in your bathroom to clean. If you let the soap scum build up it can feel impossible to get rid of. To make it easier, try keeping a squeegee in the shower and wipe down any shampoo and soap residue that splashes onto the glass. It can make deep cleaning your shower much easier.
3. Try to keep your bathroom as moisture free as possible
Simple things like leaving the fan on while showering, leaving windows open during the day and wiping away any moisture can prevent mould from setting up home in your bathroom. Another cheap option is to buy dehumidifying beads and keep them in your bathroom to remove moisture from the air.
4. Use liquid soap rather than bar soap.
If you love soap scum then you should consider using bar soap. If you prefer to not scrub soap scum from your sinks and basins then you should invest in liquid soap instead, this will save you a lot of scrubbing power.
5. Keep your bathroom cupboard organised.
Keeping your cupboard organised can be a great motivator in keeping your bathroom clean.
If your cupboard is neat it makes it easier to store cleaning products and have everything easily accessible. If your bathroom is unorganised it could mean that you are pulling out everything in your cupboard in order to find what you’re looking for. This can result in a very messy bathroom.
6. Deep clean once a week.
Cleaning your bathroom is much easier when it is done regularly. If it is done often it is much easier to wipe the mirrors and deep clean your bath, shower and toilet. Before you deep clean your shower or bath allow the bleach or cleaner to sit on the surface for at least 10 minutes to kill any mould prior to scrubbing,
7. Keep your toilet free of stains and clean out your bin.
Keeping your toilet clean shouldn’t be so hard. A good idea is to keep a toilet cleaning disc in the toilet so that it gets a quick sanitation with every flush. Another good tip is to quickly scrub of any unsightly marks that you see instead of leaving them for everyone to see. Remember to always remove empty toilet rolls and if you have a bin you should take it out regularly.
8. Stop looking at yourself while you brush your teeth.
If you face frontwards while brushing your teeth it makes it easy for the toothpaste to splash back onto your clean mirrors. Be sure to look down while brushing,
