This is one of my favourite burger places in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs. It combines two of my favourite things- fast food and video games. I have only been here a few times, and I’m a bit disappointed in myself for that.

So basically, this place is a video game themed burger restaurant in Footscray. The decor and branding are based on 8bit video games. The burgers and hotdogs are named after 80’s video games such as Altered Beast, Wonder Boy and 1942.

I find the name confusing; they refer to themselves as both 8bit and Eat8bit. I think the name is actually 8bit, but they use Eat8bit whenever the domain name or username is unavailable. I’ll assume it’s just called 8bit.

The face of jealousy when my Double Dragon arrives before his order.

The names of the burgers don’t make the burgers taste any better, but the burgers are very American- and I’m guessing they are not very healthy. But if you love video games and burgers as much as me, nutritional value probably doesn’t mean much at all.

They also have onion rings. Giant onion rings that fit over your hand, perfect for making friendship bracelets. They’re quite strong and they taste good. I definitely recommend getting these. They seem to sell out sometimes so make sure you get in early, or you might miss out.

They have cool promotional burgers at times too.

The MEGA MAN is in stores tomorrow! Triple Beef, Triple Cheese, Bacon, Waffle Fries, Cheese Sauce, Fried Pickles, Ketchup, Garlic Mayo. $15.50

This seems to be a promotional one that comes and goes. I hope I find time to get this one.
